We’re committed to making your roofing project as smooth and stress-free as possible. A little preparation before installation day helps protect your home, keeps your family safe, and allows our crews to work efficiently.
Why it’s important to be prepared
Most projects follow this order: roof replacement first, then siding (if included), followed by gutters (if included). Roof work typically takes 1–3 days, siding installation 5–7 days, and gutters 1–2 days, depending on the details of your
project. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
We’ll schedule material deliveries in a way that works best for your space. Deliveries may happen over a couple of
days so we can place everything safely and keep the project organized.
Please ensure your driveway is clear and that vehicles are out of the garage the night before your project begins. This
helps our crew get started smoothly in the morning and keeps your day on track.
During roofing or siding work, some debris and nails will fall into your yard. Mowing your lawn to about 1–1.5 inches
helps us find and remove everything thoroughly so your yard is clean when we’re done.
To protect your belongings, please move outdoor furniture, potted plants, and lawn ornaments to a safe place before
work begins.
Please make sure any gates around your home are unlocked so our crew can access the areas they need.
Construction vibrations may loosen items on your walls or shelves. For their safety, please remove anything fragile
from your walls or cabinets. Use care when putting items back, as Moose Roofing isn’t responsible for unsecured
décor or personal safety.
If you plan to be home during your project, please stay in touch with your project supervisor. Let us know when you’ll be arriving or leaving so we can help keep things safe.
Occasionally, small cracks or popped nails may appear inside your home due to normal vibration. This is rare but
possible. If it happens, a painter or drywaller can easily fix it. While Moose Roofing isn’t responsible for these minor
cosmetic issues, we want you to be aware, so you’re not caught off guard.
Please clear any pet waste so we can thoroughly clean your yard after installation. For their safety and comfort, we recommend keeping pets indoors or boarding them until the project is finished. We care about your furry family
members too!
If you have a pool or hot tub, covering it before materials arrive and before work begins helps keep it clean and
protected.
If we detach and reset your roof‑mounted satellite, scheduling a quick recalibration with your provider the day after
installation will help prevent any service issues or interruptions.
Replacing skylights may cause a small amount of dust to fall indoors. If you’d like to protect your floors, laying down
a drop cloth works well. New skylights may have slightly different trim or dimensions from older styles, so small
interior adjustments are the homeowner’s responsibility unless included in the contract for services.
To ensure the best results, we may bring in more materials than we end up needing. Unless noted as an exception
in your contract, any leftover materials belong to Moose Roofing and will be picked up after the project is complete.
After your roof or siding is complete, please allow up to 72 hours for our team to finish a thorough final cleanup
before pets or children go outside.
